ABOUT BATAVIA DOWNS
Batavia Downs is a standardbred racetrack owned and operated by Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation. Western OTB is a public benefit corporation in the State of New York.
Batavia Downs is the oldest lighted harness track in North America. Additionally, it is the first racetrack to be operated by an Off-Track Betting Corporation. Racetracks have operated OTBs but Batavia Downs is the first track to be run by an OTB.
The track boasts a half-mile oval with a Euro style rail and a new mutuel board in the infield. Horsemen have long admired the track as one with excellent turns that do not punish the trotters and pacers running the mile event on this stonedust surface.
